Prague, Czechia
The members of the NFIP network attended their second annual meeting in 2022, being hosted in Prague on 28-29th September to coincide with the rotating EU Presidency currently held by the Czech Republic. The event brought together representatives from over 30 countries, and provided opportunity to share experiences and learning from recent months and the return to full stadia in most countries following the pandemic.
Further, supported by the Czech Presidency, it was announced that recent proposals submitted by the Think Tank on (i) developing national strategies for preventing and countering pyrotechnic use in football stadia and (ii) police liaison with SLOs had been accepted and approved by the EU Law Enforcement Working Party and COREPER, and would become part of the EU legal and good practice framework once adopted by the EU Council of Justice and Home Affairs Ministers.
