CEPOL - Bucharest, Romania

The European Group of Policing Football and NFIP experts was involved in the delivery of the CEPOL Pan-European Football Security training, which took place in Bucharest from the 18th to the 22nd of November 2024.

The course was attended by a diverse group of 42 participants hailing from 25 different states across the country, showcasing a wide geographical representation. The curriculum of the course encompassed a comprehensive range of topics that were intricately related to the critical areas of safety, security, and service at football events. Key subjects included risk assessment strategies, emergency response protocols, crowd management techniques, and the implementation of effective communication systems during events.

Participants were engaged in interactive sessions that encouraged them to share their experiences and insights, fostering an environment conducive to fruitful discussions. These exchanges allowed practitioners to compare and contrast their approaches to common challenges faced in the field, leading to a rich dialogue that enhanced understanding and collaboration.

Furthermore, the course provided networking opportunities, enabling attendees to build connections that could prove beneficial in their future endeavors. The collective knowledge gained from the course not only aimed to improve individual practices but also sought to elevate the overall standards of safety and service within the football event industry.

Special thanks to the Romanian CEPOL unit for their excellent support and to our partners involved in the delivery – UEFA, Interpol, Europol, and Football Supporters Europe (FSE).
